Abstract

NCCLS is committed to providing a global forum for the development of harmonized standards and guidelines that facilitate safety, best practices, and quality patient care in the world's health care community. Through work conducted by volunteers worldwide in professions, industry, and government, NCCLS has developed standards and guidelines, and provides a forum that facilitates communication and links the various healthcare disciplines. NCCLS volunteers influence the development of standards and guidelines through participation in subcommittees and working groups. All organizations are encouraged to participate in NCCLS's unique voluntary consensus process.
