In the lead article published in the December 15, 2008 issue of Clinical Microbiology Newsletter (CMN vol. 30, no. 22, page 169), entitled “The Changing Face of Biomedical Research in Tuberculosis,” the second sentence under the heading “The New Challenge–MDR/XDR TB” should read: “Multiple-drug-resistant (MDR) and extensively drug-resistant (XDR) Mtb became a harsh reality.” We regret the error.
